THE CHEF

April Boddie, a Huntsville native, is a mother of five and Mama to many. When she was a little girl she wanted to be a race car driver, but now she races around the Rocket City catering to the needs of others.

Her food is to do the will of God, and she uses her gift diligently. After earning an associate’s degree in Culinary Arts, April set out to change the face of soul food in the industry one healthy Taste-bud at a time.

With each season the crops may change, but the Taste factor stays the same when you are as committed to freshness. Whether its soup, salad or exotic cuisine, Taste has a palate trained to meet each customer’s request with seasonal freshness.

April loves food from the dirt to the table, and mankind from the least to the most noble. A true artist at heart with hands blessed to create yummy beauty in a number of things.

On any given day you might find her repotting plants, refinishing old furniture, creating food magic or simply sitting still with a book in hand and a poem on her mind. April has a love for words and melodies. An undiscovered comedian, April finds the joy of laughter in the darkest circumstances.

April is community minded and brought her gifts to God long before she decided to take them to the bank. She has over 15 years of service to her community in a mighty way helping single moms, at risk youth and homeless.

Taste is both down-home and uptown.

Taste is family, food as well as fellowship.

For Your Dinner Options we like to sit down and talk with each client and create a custom menu. We have a very experienced pallet and can co create a menu that will scream your name with our Taste all in it. Our seasonal flavor paired with your idea of comfort food is our ultimate goal. We guarantee a savory-satisfying menu made with the freshest ingredients on the current market. We have a wide range of cooking techniques used in preparing meats of all kind so no meat is off limits. Challenge me. Vegetables my friends are my specialty and I take special pride in bringing out their natural flavors with select herbs and plethora of spices. No matter how the height or debt of you budget we well do all that we can me meet you there with something delicious. Whether it’s an intimate group or a beautiful crowd we are up the challenge! We could lay out all that we have to offer for dinner in a menu form but it would take away my greatest joy as a Chef.

As a private chef, I have the privilege of allowing my two favorite worlds to collide. I have the opportunity to get to know my clients on a more intimate level. With my love for family, cooking for someone in their own kitchen is food to my soul. Preparing customized at-home meals and shopping for families makes me feel like I’m an extended member of the clan. Feeding small groups allows me to show flair in both my food and service. It’s so special to be able to not only cook, but also get a response. There is nothing more fueling to a Chef’s engine than hearing “that was delicious”.

Private Chef booking is available for groups between 5-20 people. My ultimate goal is to be privileged enough to have a permanent assignment with a family. My desire is to add the gift and joy to the lives of my families by saving them time and putting something delicious, not only on their tables, but also in their refrigerators for later with some food magic.

When you are planning your vacation this year do not forget to include Taste. We will fly to your destination to give you a Taste of that region at its freshest. Our vacation package includes custom Breakfast, Lunch, Dinners, and Sack Lunches.
